The George Washington University Hospital

Our Trauma Injury Prevention and Outreach at a glance!

GWUH is located in heart of downtown Washington, DC. We are surrounded by The George Washington University and just minutes from Washington, D.C.'s tourist sites and government headquarters.

Falls prevention

GWUH is proud of our independent and wise senior population. We have formed close relationships with the area's center on aging, local senior living facilities and those living at home. We facilitate in-services and seminars to bring awareness to fall prevention.

Pedestrian-related injuries

Reducing the number of pedestrians killed and injured is one the goals of the District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT) Pedestrian Master Plan for DC. GWUH has awareness campaigns and programs to relay the importance of pedestrian safety to the community.

Alcohol and drug related injuries

Alcohol and drugs added to any dangerous situation increases the likely-hood of serious injury. GWUH recognizes the need for prevention in alcohol related injuries. We partner with area alcohol prevention programs and participate in events on alcohol prevention.
